Impact Gets Technical for Bill Gates’ Keynote Presentation

Impact Corporate Communications provided Microsoft Chairman, Bill Gates, with staging and technical support for his keynote address at the ninth annual Project Leadership Conference (PLC) at the Wyndham Palace Resort & Spa, Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Gates spoke to the audience of top-level IT project managers about “The Digital Decade” and previewed Microsoft’s new line of collaborative Web- enabled project management software.

After the speech, Impact’s on-site Show Producer for the three-day executive summit, William Cates (“yes, people kept asking if I’m related to Bill Gates”) said that along with the exacting equipment requirements of the Microsoft Chairman and his presentation team, “a sophisticated audience of America’s leading IT managers also has fairly high technical expectations. So our Impact team gave its usual flawless performance.”

In addition to the Gates presentation, Impact provided complete equipment and technical support at PLC for 4 smaller “tutorial” meetings as well as servicing dozens of trade show exhibitors. Cates says that Impact’s exclusive CyberCafe was also a big hit. “It features banks of internet computers so meeting attendees can check their email, and even provides full text of speeches by nearly a dozen other PLC presenters,” he said. “So if you’d missed a session, you could always catch up.”

According to Impact’s National Sales Director, David Stone, “the annual PLC is just one of approximately ten conferences a year that we produce for our client Imark Communications of Natick, Massachusetts. Since 1998 we’ve staged major meetings for Imark in cities ranging from Orlando to Boston, to San Jose, and even Opryland, in Nashville. And their high standards of technical excellence are a perfect mesh with ours.”
